Lindstrom says “Goodbye For Now”

The Chisago Lakes Volleyball program announces the resignation of Head Coach Hannah Lindstrom.

Coach Hannah (2025)

“This role has been a dream to fulfill for the last 8 years. Thank you for taking a chance on me to lead and build a program of significance.  I hope and pray that I have made a positive impact on the community, school, and volleyball culture of Chisago Lakes,” she shared. “I do not take this role lightly and it’s my desire for the program to reach its absolute fullest potential. With changes in my family, despite my passion, my capacity to lead this program with my full ability and integrity has changed. I know the student-athletes will benefit from a change in leadership that can give them their best effort. I plan to stay connected to the program, offer to volunteer and assist how I can, and hopefully return to a contracted coaching position in the future,” she said.

Hannah Lindstrom was hired in May of 2018 as one of the youngest head coaches in the state of Minnesota at 23 years old. She is a proud alumna of Chisago Lakes where she played volleyball and softball and participated in choir, NHS, and DECA. After high school she went to Bethel University to continue playing volleyball and study business. An off-season injury ended her playing career after freshman year, and she subsequently received a call from CL inquiring about her interest in coaching. She took a leap to accept the job with our B-Squad team in 2014- a decision that lead to moving up in the coaching staff, coaching at the national level for Crossfire Volleyball, and ultimately pursuing a career in teaching.

Each part of Chisago Lakes Volleyball has Lindstrom’s hand written all over it. She came in with big goals- the team had a 5-17 record the year before she took over, which she was able to redirect to a reputation of winning seasons and a state tournament appearance by 2021. Coach Hannah established a local youth league in the off-season, a community service program for the high schoolers, and significant summer training opportunities for all ages. She has lead the program through COVID-19, a miscarriage, the birth and care of two babies, current pregnancy of her third baby, her Master’s program, 3 different teaching positions, and the training of multiple different assistant coaches. She is ending her 8 year tenure with a record of 88-105, one State Tournament appearance (the program’s first), and a 2021 Section 4AAA Coach of the Year Award. Yet, Coach Hannah would say that building relationships, teaching life skills through competition, being a female role model, and having a positive impact on something meaningful are her proudest moments of coaching. Lindstrom plans to continue teaching business at Chisago Lakes High School.

She’d like to thank the numerous assistant coaches who have supported her work in the program, the administration at CLHS for their constant encouragement, and her husband and family for their unwavering cheerleading and support at home to make it all possible.

“It has been the privilege of a lifetime to lead and serve in this role. Let’s consider this a ‘goodbye for now’,” Lindstrom says.

Hiring for a new head coach will start immediately. Please reach out to our activities department with questions.
